Bert Olson General When I was 7 years old, I had the great fortune of being in the cab of this engine from Chicago to Lake Forest. My father knew someone at C&NW and was able to arrange it. Are there any other photos of this engine? 1/25/2009 10:03:00 AM
Mike Moroni General This is a great photo and reminds me so much of my youth growing up in Green Bay. We lived very near the CNW station in the mid 60's and went past here often. The switcher locomotive is either a FM H10-44 or H12-44, one of the all time classics! I tried to make out the number by zooming in, looks like 1049... it's a guess... 12/6/2009 11:50:11 AM
Bert Olson General Are there any other pictures of this engine, or does anyone know if it's still in existance? 2/12/2013 6:56:08 PM
Todd Greenberg General Bert, I found this information: When METRA took over Chicago suburban service the engine became METRA 519. Retired in 1991. Sold 1992 to Pacific Rail Dismantlers who numbered her to PRDX 519. Sold 1997 to Monad Railway Equipment and numbered MREX 97. 2006 to Sonia Orlenko who moved the engine to the Arizona Railway Museum for display and storage. 2/13/2013 9:22:38 PM
